XENON POISONING IN A SHUT-DOWN REACTOR

Journal Article · · Nuclear Science and Engineering (U.S.)
OSTI ID:4718667

The method of calculating an effective flux for the whole reactor was used to calculate the xenon buildup and decay after shutdown. A xenon run was made in the Diorit reactor, in which xenon was first allowed to build up at a power of 17.6 Mw and the power then reduced to 0.16 Mw. The measured reactivity invested in xenon was in good agreement with the theoretical predictions. (D.L.C.)
