PLASTIC DEFORMATION OF IMPERFECT MONOCRYSTALS OF $alpha$ URANIUM BY CREEP ABOVE 550 C (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend.
OSTI ID:4716801
The creep of monocrystals of alpha uranium above 550 un. Concent 85% C occurs essentially by slip. The heat of activation for the creep is higher than that found for polycrystals. An explanation is proposed with respect to the stability of the polygonization of crystals pre-existent to the creep. This was due to their mode of growth by BETA and up to st r alpha phase transformation. (tr-auth)
