CROSS SECTIONS OF 14.5 Mev NEUTRON REACTIONS WITH SPECIAL INTEREST IN Ca$sup 47$ FORMATION

The cross sections of the Ti/sup 50/(n, alpha )Ca/sup 47/ and Ca/sup 48/ (n,2n)Ca /sup 47/ reactions for 14.5 Mev neutrons are measured as 10 plus or minus 2 mb and 0.9 plus or minus 0.2 b, in good agreement with the calculated values. The cross sections of the Ti/sup 48/(n,p)Sc/sup 48/ and d 99 plus or minus 20 mb, respectively, in fair agreement with some literature values. The cross section obtained for the V/sup 51/(n alpha )Sc/sup 48/ reaction, 18 plus or minus 3 mb, does not agree with results in the literature. (auth)
