The Determination of Iodine in Biological Media Using Radioactivation Analysis; DOSAGE DE L'IODE DANS LES MILIEUX BIOLOGIQUES AU MOYEN DE L'ANALYSE PAR RADIACTIVATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4712969
It is shown that radioactivation analysis of iodine in biological media makes it possible to measure iodine concentrations of the order of 0,0001 mu g. A review of the chemical methods and the difficulties they present, along with the optimum conditions for the determination of iodine in biological liquids are given. Three methods are described. The sensitivity, reproducibility, and accuracy are also discussed. Sorne applications are described: determination of iodine in its various organic forms in serum, determination of iodine in urines, food-stuffs, and thyroid tissue. (P.C.H.)
