The extent to which recently deposited Sr90, aside from the cumulative total in the soil, is responsible for the contamination of milk was examined in U.K. on the basis of survey data from 1958 to 1961. Data are given for the estimated Sr90 depositions and Sr90 contamination of milk in England and Wales. Proportionality factors are derived for deposited and soil Sr90 and are compared with those for other parts of the world. (D.L.C.)
