Analysis of the Relationship between Deposition of Long-Lived Fission Products and Level of Activity in Milk

Journal Article · · Nature (London)

Data are presented on levels of Sr90 and Cs137 occurring in milk produced in west Cardiganmshire, Wales, throughout 1960. The data are examined in relation to data on samples collected during 1958 and 1959. The extent to which levels of radioactivity in milk may be influenced by winter and summer feeding conditions and the reservoir of activity accumulated in the top layer of soil are discussed.
