CP violation and CKM phases from angular distributions for B{sub s} decays into admixtures of CP eigenstates

We investigate the time evolutions of angular distributions for B{sub s} decays into final states that are admixtures of CP-even and CP-odd configurations. A sizable lifetime difference between the B{sub s} mass eigenstates allows a probe of CP violation in time-dependent untagged angular distributions. Interference effects between different final state configurations of B{sub s}{r_arrow}D{sub s}{sup {asterisk}+}D{sub s}{sup {asterisk}{minus}}, J/{psi}{phi} determine the Wolfenstein parameter {eta} from {ital untagged} data samples, or, if one uses {vert_bar}V{sub ub}{vert_bar}/{vert_bar}V{sub cb}{vert_bar} as additional input, the notoriously difficult to measure CKM angle {gamma}. Another determination of {gamma} is possible by using isospin symmetry of strong interactions to relate {ital untagged} data samples of B{sub s}{r_arrow}K{sup {asterisk}+}K{sup {asterisk}{minus}} and B{sub s}{r_arrow}K{sup {asterisk}0}{bar K}{sup {asterisk}0}. We note that the {ital untagged} angular distribution for B{sub s}{r_arrow}{rho}{sup 0}{phi} provides interesting information about electroweak penguin diagrams. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
