DECAY HEAT COOLING SYSTEM

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4711695
BS>A separate decay heat cooling system is provided for dealing with the decay heat after reactor shut-down. The decay heat cooling system consists of a shell and tube heat exchanger in which two separate pump systems are located to circulate the primary coolant gas. One of these pump systems is arranged so as to be operated at the normal high gas pressure while the other one is put into operation if in the event of a primary system leakage the gas pressure gets very low.
