Progress made in the development of the radioisotopefueled thermoelectric generators (SNAP-IA, SNAP-MA, -B, -C, and -D, and SNAP-VII is reported. SNAP-IA development is reported in relation to the overall system, structare and containment, heat element development and testing, environmental and qualification testing, ground handling and transportation, conversion system, and operational hazards. SNAP-III-A, -B, -C, and -D development of the thermoelectric generator is concerned mostly with molybdenum fuel capsule development, vehicle integration, fuel element design and testing, generator design and testing, and hazards testing. SNAP-VII development is concerned with generator design, fuel development, program management and integration, and hazards analysis. (N.W.R.)
