A simple, small-scale laboratory method to determine the linear relation between the neutron dosage and the gamma induced color shade of glasses is described. Sample glasses of borosilicate crown glass (BK-7) and flint glass (F- 2) were used. The relation was established by first determining the shade of the induced color using a 200-C Co/sup 60/ source, then a neutron and gamma -ray mixed source of Ra-Be (0.1-C, and 3 x 10/sup 3/ n/sq. cm/sec). It was observed that BK-7 glass can be used for measuring higher dosages than F-2 glass. (OID)
