A FEW RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE AREA OF WEAK INTERACTIONS (in Dutch)

Journal Article · · Ned. Tijdschr. Natuurk.
OSTI ID:4708953
A survey is given of recent developments on weak interactions with emphasis on weak interactions involving strange particles (hyperons and K mesons). The types of weak interactions considered are classified into four groups: processes in which only leptons appear; processes in which, in addition to leptons, baryons and/or mesons appear and in which the strangeness is conserved; processes in which, in addition to leptons, baryons or mesons appear and in which the strangeness is not conserved; and processes in which no leptons appear and in which the strangeness is not conserved. The representations of these four caese are given. Five rules controlling these weak interactions are cited, and the consequences of these ruies are discussed in detail. In conclusion, the hypothesis of the intermediate vector boson and gamma decay of the muon are considered. (J.S.R.)
