A review is given of the theory of elementary particle weak interactions. Special attention is devoted to the lepton decay of strange particles (K mesons and hyperons) while slow processes in nuclei ( beta decay, capture of mu mesons. and hypernuclear decay) are not discussed. The hypotheses on strongly interacting particles, on universal weak interactions, and on lepton interactions with strongly interacting particles are described. (R.V.J.)
