AIRCRAFT REACTOR EXPERIMENT HAZARDS SUMMARY REPORT

A hazards summary is presented for the Aircraft Reactor Experiment. This facility was designed primarily to test the feasibility of fluid-fuel, high- temperature, highpower-density reactors for aircraft. Design and operation of the reactor are discussed, and the nuclear and chemical hazards peculiar to it are outlined along with hazards to the surrounding area in evert of failure. (J.R.D.)
