INVESTIGATION OF NUCLEAR REACTIONS WITH THE CYCLOTRON OF THE PHYSICAL INSTITUTE OF THE UKRAINIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES (in Russian)

S>The work carried out with the cyclotron of the Physical Institute during the period from 1957 to 1961 is summarized. The cyclotron generates a 6.8- Mev proton and a 13.6Mev deuteron beam. The elastic and inelastic scattering of the 6.8-Mev protons on targets consisting of the natural isotopic mixtures of Al, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ag, Cd, Sn, Pb, and Bi was studied. Similar investigations were also Cu/sup 63,65/, Zn/sup 64,68,70/, Zr/sup 90,91,92,96/, and Sn/sup 116,117,119,124 /. Study of the angular and energy distribution of protons in the 9/, C/sup 12/, Si/sup 28,29/, Ca/sup 40/ Ti/sup 46,47,48/, Ni/sup 58,60,62,64/, Sr/sup 88/, Zr/sup 90,91/, Mo/sup 91,92,9 5,96/, Cd/sup 111,113/, and Sn/sup 117,119/ nuclei made it possible to determine the spin and the parity of the ground and excited states of the isotopes. Study of the interaction of protons and deuterons with the isotopes made it possible to investigate the isotopic effect in the elastic scattering process at large angles, using isotopes which differ from each other by one or two neutrons.
