THE EXTRACTION OF METAL COMPLEXES WITH ORGANIC ACIDS BY MEANS OF AMINES THE EXTRACTION OF URANIUM AND TITANIUM COMPLEXES

It is shown that metal complexes with organic acids can be extracted by amines. The investigation of uranium and titanium in ascorbic and oxalic acids showed that their complexes are extracted with benzyl, cyclohexyl, and trin-butyl amines in n-butyl alcohol. The extraction increases with an increase in the concentrations of the amine and complexing agent. Oxalate complexes of titanium and uranium and the titanium ascorbic complex are extracted well by tri-iso-octyl amine in xylene, while the uranyl ascorbic complex is not. Preliminary experiments indicate that other elements can be extracted by amines from the solutions of other complexing acids. (auth)
