PERTURBATION THEORY FOR ACCELERATORS WITH A GENERAL MAGNETIC FIELD. PART II

The effects of a perturbing field on the linear properties of an accelerator with a general magnetic field are calculated. The perturbing magnetic field in the median plane is assumed to have only a vertical component and to contain no harmonics having the same periodicity as the unperturbed field. Results are found for the change in the equilibrium orbit and in the betatron oscillation frequencies caused by the perturbation. (auth)
