IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO HEAT EXCHANGERS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4702336
Heat exchange means being in contact with a medium from which the heat is to be removed, e.g. in contact with the fissile material in a nuclear reactor, are formed by two metal sheets welded together by hot rolling. Before the rolling process an appropriate substance is interposed at given zones between said sheets, forming a series of parallel stripes. This substance prevents the mutual welding of the sheets within said stripes. The sheets are then placed between a plate and the lower half of a die, while a pressurized fluid is introduced between the sheets at their non-welded zones so that the sheet gets the desired shape.
