The absolute differential cross section for elastic p-p scattering was measured for an energy of 0.97 Bev at 6, the unpolarized differential cross- section curve. A total elastic cross-section of (26.8 plus or minus 2.3) mb and a forward scattering cross section of (21.4 plus or minus 0.5) mb/sr, which is considerably in excess of the optical theorem minimum of (16.3 plus or minus 0.2) mb/sr, were obtained.
