NUCLEAR QUADRUPOLE INTERACTION OF Sb$sup 121$ AND Sb$sup 123$ IN ANTIMONY METAL

The five nuclear quadrupole resonances of Sb/sup 121/ and Sb/sup 123/ have been measured at 4.2 deg K giving the quadrupole couplings eqQ = 76.867 plus or minus 0.001 and 97 999 plus or minus 0.001 Mc/sec, respectively. The temperature dependence of the interaction has been measured from 2 to 480 deg K. Both isotopes have the same temperature dependence of (1/ nu )(d delta /dT) approximately 2.4 x 10/sup -4/ deg K/sup -1/. The ionic field gradient provides about 10% of this measured quadrupole coupling. (auth)
