ANGULAR DISTRIBUTION AND POLARIZATION OF K SHELL PHOTOELECTRONS IN THE HIGH ENERGY LIMIT

Expressions, involving the hypergeometric Appell function F/sub 1/ and exact in the high energy limit, are derived for the K shell photoelectric matrix elements. Suitable series expansions of the F/sub 1/function, containing the angle variable in a simple way, are used for the numerical calculations, which are carried through for alpha Z = 0.3, 0.6, and 1.
