THEORY OF TORSIONAL OSCILLATIONS IN ROTATING HELIUM

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
An alternative explanation was proposed for the excess second sound attenuation in rotating liquid helium. This treatment replaced effects attributed to quantized vortices by the corresponding effects for irrotational domain behavior. The equations of motion, imposition of boundary requirements, and specification of effective density of superfluid attached to the disks were determined. (C.E.S.)
