The vanadates of rare earths from Pr to Er were prepared by heating equimolar powder mixtures of rare earth oxides and V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ at 950 deg C. The compounds all had the same structure as YVO/sub 4/. Diffraction patterns for the compounds are presented. They were obtained using a General Electric XRD-3 unit with a goniometer and Ni filtered Cu radiation. (C.H.)
