DETECTOR FOR GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4696997
An ionization detector for a gas chromatograph is patented, in which the detector housing, the high-voltage power supply, and the output amplifier may be operated at circuit ground. The background current is not connected to the output circuit, and therefore does not need to be bucked out in the measuring system. The electron-collector electrode is operated at a relatively high potential with respect to circuit ground and is separated from the ion-collector electrode by a grid maintained at approximately circuit ground. The operation of the detector and details of construction are detailed. (M.P.G.)
