NEW VSRT SCINTILLATION COUNTERS (VERY SHORT RESOLVING TIME) (in French)

Journal Article · · Acta Electronica
OSTI ID:4696991
Rare gases used as scintillators have a characteristically short scintillation and linearity of response versus total transferred incident- particle energy. Associated with fastresponse photomultipliers, these scintillators make it possible to solve certain problems in nuclear physics, in which a linear detector with a very short resolving time (a few nanoseconds) is an indispensable requirement. Two typical units, the results obtained, and future possibilities are described. (auth)
