The average diurnal-variations of geomagnetic and auroral activities are presented for every month from August, 1959 to March, 1960 using the ionospheric absorption of cosmic radio noise, the chorus indices, the auroral radar activity, and the K-indices. It is shown that the diurnal variation of the chorus correlates with that of cosmic noise absorption, but the chorus peak often delays about an hour after that of the cosmic noise absorption, and that the chorus variation negatively correlates with the variations of the auroral activity and the K-index. Thus the chorus correlates with the incoming relatively high-energy charged particles that cause cosmic noise absorption, but not with the incoming low-energy particles that produce geomagnetic disturbances.
