Coherent oscillation is investigated for partially ionized gas discharges. There are two kinds of standing wave modes of the plasma column, depending on such parameters as the ratio of the magnetic field to the plasma pressure. The plasma column forms a cylindrical resonator, and the cycloidal motions of electrons around the plasma column, that are made by the crossed electric and magnetic fields at the anode, excite a coherent oscillation with small amplitude. Characteristics of the two standing wave modes are discussed.
