HEAVY ION COULOMB EXCITATION OF DEFROMED NUCLEI

The Coulomb excitation of Tb/sup 159/, Ho/sup 165/, Tm/sup 169/, Th/sup 232/, and U/sup 238/ was studied using O/sup 16/ ion projectiles at 60-80 Mev to determine detailed level schemes. The gamma spectrum, conversion electron spectrum, and level scheme of Tb/sup 159/, Ho/sup 165/, and Tm/sup 169/ and energy analysis of the ground-state rotational-band members for Ho/sup 165/ and Tb/sup 159/ are presented. The electron spectrum and level scheme of Th/sup 232/ and U/sup 238/ are also presented. (C.E.S.)
