A STUDY OF THE INTERNAL ELECTRON CONVERSION SPECTRUM OF Eu$sup 14$$sup 7$ (in Russian)

A gadolinium fraction containing Gd/sup 147/ (T/sub 1/2/ = 1.5 d) was isolated from a Ta target irradiated with 660-Mev protons. Eight days later the Eu/sup 147/ daughter (T/sub 1/2/ = 24 d) was separated from the Gd/sup 147/ parent, and mounted electrolytically on a copper backing. The internal conversion electron spectrum of Eu/sup 147/ was determined on a large, doublefocusing, magnetic materials at spectrometer. The Eu/sup 149/ impurity was insignificantly small. A comparison of the experimental and calculated values of the internal conversion electron coefficients alpha /sub K// alpha / sub L/ showed that the 77-kev transition is a transition of the type M1 + 15% E2, and that the 602- and 679-kev transitions are M1 and E2, or E2 and M3 respectively. The K-LL, K-LM, and K-MM Auger electrons were readily resolved, and the theoretical values for the relative intensities of these groups of Auger electrons were found to be in good agreement with the experimental values (TTT)
