Mice were irradiated on the day of their birth with x-ray doses of 570 r, measured in air. An arrest in growth appeared in one day. The body weight of the controls increased 0.15 g in one day, while that of the irradiated animals increased only 0.04 g. After 100 days the irradiated mice weighed only 48% as much as unirradiated mice, Bone growth was studied in the same mice. (M.C.G.)
