DOES UNILATERAL EXTIRPATION OF THE CERVICAL SYMPATHETIC GANGLION INFLUENCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF RADIATION CATARACT IN THE RABBIT

Journal Article · · Ber. Deut. Ophthalmol. Ges.
OSTI ID:4694242
Removal of the cervical sympathetic nerve and ganglion prior to x irradiation of the eye of rabbits did not alter the development of cataract. Hence the concept that vasomotor disturbances of autonomic origin are involved in the pathogenesis of human senile cataract was not substantiated. (H.H.D.)
