THE 1:2 LANTHANUM-THORON CHELATE

Journal Article · · Z. Anorg. Allgem. Chem.
Studies on the composition and stability of the lanthanum-Thoron chelate by the spectrophotometric method are described. This red colored chelate has lambda /sub max/ at 515 m mu . The composition as determined by different methods is 1:2. The chelate is stable between pH 4.0 and 8.0. The values of log K as determined by two different methods are 9.92 plus or minus 0.25 and 10.25 plus or minus 0.2, respectively, at pH 5.5 and temperature 25 deg . (auth)
