SOME PECULIARITIES IN THE DIURNAL VARIATION OF MAXIMUM IONIZATION DENSITY OF THE F2 LAYER

Journal Article · · Nature

Analysis of data from 7 stations of the Indian Ionospheric Stations on the 75 un. Concent 85% E. meridian for the month of September showed two peculiarities in the diurnal variation of the critical frequency of the F/sub 2/ layer between periods of low and high sunspot activity. Results are compared with diurnal variation of density of the F/sub 2/ layer observed during September in previous years. Possible explanations of this anomaly are presented. (C.H.)
