IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO IONISATION CHAMBERS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4691579
An ionization-chamber pocket dosimeter with magnetically actuated charging means is patented. A flexible conductor of ferromagnetic material is placed in the ionization chamber between the capacitor electrode and a stationary electrical contact. Normally, it is separated from the electrode, the contact, or both. When the capacitor is to be recharged, the dosimeter is placed in a strong magnetic field, which deflects the flexible conductor until an electrical connection is made between the capacitor electrode and the stationary contact. The flexible conductor may be a cylindrical helical spring, and may be connected within the dosimeter in a variety of ways. (M.P.G.)
