DEVICE FOR COMPENSATING SUDDEN CHANGES IN LOAD OF STEAM POWER PLANTS FEATURING A PRIMARY AND A SECONDARY CIRCUIT, e.g. OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS
The device described is for compensating a sudden relief of load in nuclear power plants featuring a primary and a least secondary circuit. In order to prevent inadmissible pressure rises within the primary system, such as those stemming from sudden reliefs of load in a secondary or tertiary circuit, safety relief valves are provided. But because of radioactivities which can escape, the opening of these safety valves should be restricted to emergency cases only. This can be achieved by providirg relief valves in the secondary circuit through which the working medium might be expanded according to the momentary load in such a way that the action of a sudden relief of load on the primary circuit is retarded and the velocity of pressure change does not release the safety valves.
