An absolute measurement of the specific BETA activity of a Au/sup 198/ solution is presented. Two methods were used, the 4 pi BETA proportional counter and the BETA -- gamma coincidence method. The results are compared with the corresponding mean values of the international ones on the same solution. (auth)
