DETERMINATION OF CARBON IN SODIUM BY ISOTOPE DILUTION MASS SPECTROMETRY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4688144
A method utilizing isotope dilution mass spectrometry was developed for the determination of elemental carbon in sodium. In the range of 50 to 150 mu g of carbon, precision and accuracy of plus or minus 10 to 25 mu g were demonstrated. The determination is not affected by loss of generated carbon dioxide nor by contamination from any source except elemental carbon. (auth)
