THE INFLUENCE OF PHASE TRANSFER DISCONTINUITY ON THE EFFICIENCY OF INTERMITTENTLY PULSED LIQUID-LIQUID COUNTERCURRENT EXTRACTION COLUMNS (in German)

Intermittent pulse forms corresponding to mixer-settler principles allowed spray-laminated columns to be developed for liquid-liquid countercurrent extraction with theoretical cell efficiency up to 200%. The reason for that is the discontinuity of the phase transports by which a maximum of two equilibria occurs between the phases during a pulsation cycie. Therefore, the positive influence of this effect depends strongly on the size of the distribution coefficient or separation factor, which is shown by theoretical analyses and diagrams. A transfer of the obtained results into practice is to a certain degree possible. An experimental proof was given previously. (tr-auth)
