A steam generator is designed for the generation of steam and superheating of the steam in nuclear power plants. The generator comprises a vertical cylindrical shell, and a vertical bundle of U-tubes within the shell and connected to a pair of headers or to a tube plate. Two steam generating sections are provided on either side of a superheating section which is isolated by trunking. The tube bundle and trunking are surrounded by a baffle open at the bottom for the circulation of the water. (D.L.C.)
