THE SYSTEM ZIRCONIUM-OXYGEN-POTASSIUM (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend.
OSTI ID:4687685
The metazirconate of potassium (K/sub 2/ZrO/sub 3/) is degraded at 600 deg C to give, successively, K/sub 2/Zr/sub 2/O/sub 5/, K/sub 2/Zr/sub 3/O/sub 7/ , and monoclinic zirconia. The metaxirconate crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with four K/sub 2/ZrO/sub 3/ units per cell. It is found that K/sub 2/Zr/ sub 2/O/sub 5/ crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, also with four K/sub 2/Zr/ sub 2/O/sub 5/ units per cell. The x-ray spectra of K/sub 2/Zr/sub 3/O/sub 7/ show, it to belong to the quadratic system. The cell parameters of these three types of cells are given. (tr-auth)
