The decay of Gd151 (in German)

The electron-capture decay of Gd151 was investigated by means of gamma and gamma - gamma coincidences using scintillation counters. Besides the known gamma rays of 22, 154, 175, 244, and 308 kev, additional gamma transitions with energies of 107 and 350 kev could be assigned to the decay of Gd151. Gammagamma coincidence measurements showed the following cascade transitions - (107 --244 kev), (154-175--22 kev), and (308--22 kev). The K- conversion-coefficients of several transitions were determined by comparing the gamma intensities and the previously knowm conversion electronintensities, using a direct measurement of the K/sup -/ conversion-coefficient of the 175-kev transition by a delayed-coincidence experiment as a normalization of the rdiative intensities. With the available information a levelscheme for Eu151 is proposed.
