Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) was grafted onto nonporous and porous polyethylene films that had been modified by irradiation with a electron beam to a dose of 200 kGy. The epoxy groups of the grafted GMA polymer were opened and further modified by introduction of an iminodiacetate (IDA) group. Surface and bulk resistivity measurements indicated that porous films were only surface modified, while the porous films were modified throughout. 11 refs., 6 figs.
