STUDIES OF REACTOR CONTAINMENT. Bimonthly Progress Report, April-May 1963

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4684682

Progress is reported on crushable shield analysis and design, shock impingement experiments on crushable solids, and coolant decompression experiments and analysis. A computer program is being prepared for stress wave motion in a one-dimensional single-layered media. A theoretical study of elastic wave propagation in layered materials was begun. Experiments were carried out in a water shock tube at initial operating temperatures in the range of 500 to 600 deg F. (M.C.G.)
