The possibility of forming molecules of alpha , alpha -diphenyl BETA - picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) in alpha , alpha -diphenyl- BETA -picryl hydrazine (DPPH/ sub 2/) by irradiating DPPH/sub 2/ is discussed. Samples of DPPH/sub 2/ were irradiated at room temperature in beams of thermal neutrons with doses from 1.20 x 10/sup 14/ to 1.44 x 10/sup 17/ nvt. EPR absorption in dilute liquid solutions of irradiated solutions of DPPH/sub 2/ exhibited a very close similarity with EPR absorption in dilute liquid solutions of DPPH. (P.C.H.)
