ABSOLUTE MEASUREMENT OF THE NEUTRON FLUX DENSITY IN THE A.E.R.E. REACTOR "GLEEP"

Journal Article · · J. Nucl. Energy, Pt. A & B
The flux density at the sample position of GLEEP is calculated from the activation produced in gold and in manganese-nickel foils. The 4 pi BETA - gamma coincidence technique is shown to be applicable to the absolute measurement of Mn/sup 56/ in foils in spite of the complexity of the decay scheme. The flux density is estimated at 1.663 x 10/sup 8/ n/cm/sup 2//sec per mu A of ionization current in the monitor chamber. (auth)
