ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF THE TECHNICAL APPLICATION OF RADIOISOTOPES

Journal Article · · Atom (England)
OSTI ID:4683201
A survey is presented of the ways in which the use of radioisotopes can affect the economy of the industrial processes and of some economic advantages of their use. Some of these ways include: thickness gages, radiographic testing, tracer applications, and industrial research. The various types of economic surveys are defined, and the resuits of national surveys made in U.K., U.S.A., France, Sweden, and U.S.S.R. of the savings due to radioisotope use are tabulated. The potential savings in some U.K. industries if they adopted uniform radioisotope techniques are also tabulated. (D.L.C.)
