EXACT CALCULATION OF INELASTIC ELECTRON SCATTERING FOR MONOPOLE EXCITATION

An exact calculation of the cross section for inelastic scattering of relativistic electrons by nuclei was carried out for a special nuclear model. The nucleus was taken as an oscillating spherical drop of homogeneous charge density. The monopole excitation was computed for different nuclei and electron energies. The cross sections are compared with the corresponding Born approximation values. (auth)
