CERTAIN DERIVATIVES OF DITHIOCARBAMIC ACID AS REAGENTS FOR NIOBIUM (in Russian)

A number of derivatives of dithiocarbamic acid (ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbaminate, sodium piperidinedithiocarbaminate, ammonium phenylhydrazinedithrocarbaminate, and sodium diethyldithiocarbaminate) have been studied as reagents for niobium. lt was established that the best reagent is ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbaminate. Conditions were studied for niobium pyrrolidinedithiocarbaminate extraction from tartaric, citric, and oxalic acid solutions. It was found that niobium pyrrolidinedithiocarbaminate can be quantitatively extracted with chloroform from concentrated hydrochloric acid solutions (8--10 N HCl), as well as from tartaric and oxalic acid solutions at pH 4--5. Conditions for back extraction of niobium from the organic phase are given. (auth)
