STUDY OF THE RELATIVE STRENGTH OF CERTAIN COMPLEX COMPOUNDS OF NIOBIUM AND TANTALUM IN SOLUTION (in Russian)

The stability of Nb and Ta complexes in tartaric, citric, oxalic, lactic, and ethylenediaminetetra acetic acids and with sodium fluoride and pyrocatechin was analyzed. The minimum complexing agent concentrations for retaining Nb and Ta at pH 1.2, 2.5, and 5.0 were determined. lt was found that an addition of one mole of citric, tartaric, oxalic, or ethylenediaminetetra acetic acid to several (up to 6) moles of Nb or Ta solution results in polynuclear complexes.
