An evaluation was made of the PRTR fuel element rupture test loop. The effects studied were reactivity of the PRTR, program schedules, physics analysis and data, and reactor startup. It was found that no additional enrichment is required to support this loop beyond that already provided in shim control allowance for small variations in reactivity. The loop was designed for automatic operation with safety tie-ins to the reactor control circuit as required. A thorough safety analysis of the loop is being carried out. (M.C.G.)
