ZIRCONIUM ALLOYS OF HIGH CORROSION-RESISTING QUALITIES

The zirconium alloy described displays high corrosionresisting qualities against extended exposure to a watery medium, e.g., water vapor at 1 atm. and at temperatures of 500 deg C. This alloy is composed of 0.75 to 1.25% copper, 0.25 to 0.75% tin, and the rest zirconium containing the unavoidable impurities. A preferable composition consists of 1.0% copper, 0.5% tin, and the rest zirconium. (Gmelin Inst.)
